$25 off for the second repair of large household appliances.
Does not apply to payment for diagnostic
A range failure eliminates both stovetop and oven cooking simultaneously — and in San Mateo homes with professional-grade 36” or 48” freestanding ranges from Wolf, Viking, or BlueStar, the complexity of diagnosis is significantly higher than a standard residential unit. Appliance ProCare provides certified range repair across San Mateo with a $90 service call fee credited toward your repair and a 3-month warranty on parts and labor.

No matter the appliance, if it’s not working right — we’ll make it work again. We know what to do.
We replace failed bake and broil elements, gas igniters, and temperature sensors to restore full oven function across all range configurations.
We clean, recalibrate, and replace gas igniters, spark modules, and valve assemblies to restore reliable ignition across all burners.
We calibrate and replace oven thermostats and sensors to eliminate temperature drift causing uneven baking results.

San Mateo’s residential market spans a wide spectrum — from original Craftsman homes near downtown with 30” basic gas ranges to fully renovated kitchens in San Mateo Park and Beresford with 48” Wolf or Thermador dual-fuel professional ranges. Both require expert repair, but the diagnostic approach and parts sourcing differ completely.
A 48” dual-fuel Wolf range combines four gas burners, a griddle, an infrared broiler, and two convection oven cavities — all sharing a single control board but with independent heating systems. A failure that appears to be one problem (no bake heat) may originate in three different subsystems. Getting the diagnosis right the first time saves the customer multiple service visits and parts that aren’t needed.
San Mateo County’s participation in California’s electrification push means that new construction is increasingly all-electric — and the next generation of ranges in San Mateo will be induction. But the existing housing stock still runs predominantly on gas, with freestanding gas ranges as the dominant cooking appliance. This means the gas range repair market in San Mateo will remain strong for the next 15–20 years as existing appliances age and require service.
A range is not a single appliance system. It combines stovetop burners, oven heating, temperature control, ignition, valves, wiring, sensors, and electronic controls in one unit. That is why the same complaint — “my range is not working” — can mean several different repairs.
If the stovetop burners are the issue, Jason checks the igniters, burner heads, spark module, gas flow, valve response, knobs, and wiring. If the oven section is the issue, he checks the bake element, broil element, gas oven igniter, temperature sensor, convection fan, relay board, control panel, and door gasket. After diagnostics, you receive the full repair price before approving the work. If you move forward, the $90 service call fee is applied toward the repair.
If you smell gas, hear repeated clicking, notice delayed ignition, see a yellow or uneven flame, or the oven takes too long to light, the appliance should be inspected before regular use continues. Delayed ignition is especially important — when gas builds up before the burner or oven ignites, the range may make a small “boom” sound at startup. That is not normal operation and should be checked promptly.
Q: My oven works but one stovetop burner won’t ignite. Is this a control board or an igniter?
A: Single-burner failure is almost always that burner’s igniter or spark module — not the control board. The control board typically affects all burners simultaneously. Isolating the failure to the specific igniter circuit is a $80–$150 repair vs. a $300–$550 board replacement.
Q: My Wolf 48” range has two oven cavities. Only one is heating. Is this a shared board or an independent heater?
A: Wolf’s dual-oven 48” configurations have independent heating elements per cavity but share a control board. A single-cavity failure usually points to that cavity’s element or temperature sensor rather than the shared board — our diagnostic confirms which before parts are ordered.
