$25 off for the second repair of large household appliances.
Does not apply to payment for diagnostic
A cooktop set into Menlo Park’s premium countertops — Calacatta marble in Sharon Heights, engineered quartz in Allied Arts renovations, imported quartzite in custom builds near Sand Hill Road — requires more than a wrench to service. Extracting the unit without cracking the stone cutout edge requires vacuum lift tools and non-marring guides. Appliance ProCare brings both. $90 service call credited toward repair. 3-month warranty.

No matter the appliance, if it’s not working right — we’ll make it work again. We know what to do.
Igniter cleaning, recalibration, and spark module replacement — we check the free fix first before ordering any parts.
Single-zone and full-surface inverter board diagnosis and OEM replacement for Freedom®, Horizon™, and all induction configurations.
Ceramic-glass surface assessment and OEM replacement — a cracked glass cooktop is both a safety hazard and a heat loss issue.
Control board, touch interface, and knob assembly repair across all gas, electric, and induction cooktop platforms.

The most common cooktop complaint Appliance ProCare receives from Menlo Park homeowners is a gas burner that clicks continuously or won’t ignite. In the majority of cases, the fix is free and immediate: food residue in the burner port or under the igniter cap.
Before scheduling a service call, try this: remove the burner cap and grate, clean the igniter port with a dry toothbrush or wooden toothpick (never metal), dry the assembly completely with a towel, and reassemble. If the clicking stops and the burner lights cleanly, you’re done. If it persists after cleaning and complete drying, the igniter electrode has failed: $80–$150 to clean and recalibrate or $130–$220 to replace the module.

Menlo Park’s new construction — particularly along the El Camino Real corridor and in the Allied Arts neighborhood — is almost entirely all-electric under California’s post-2022 building code trajectory. Induction cooktops from Miele, Thermador, Bosch, and Wolf are now the dominant technology in renovated and newly built Menlo Park kitchens.
Induction cooktop failures are electronically complex. A single-zone failure on a Thermador Freedom® surface is almost always the inverter board for that zone — not the coil, not the glass. The board costs $180–$400 to replace and restores full function without replacing the entire surface. A generalist who replaces the glass when the board is the issue costs the customer $250–$600 for nothing. Getting the diagnosis right matters.
Flush-mounted cooktops sit in a stone cutout with a thin lip of material between the appliance and the counter edge. Any lateral force during extraction risks chipping or cracking that edge. Appliance ProCare technicians use vacuum lift systems and silicone guides that eliminate lateral force during cooktop removal entirely. Every premium countertop material requires a different approach — engineered quartz chips differently than natural marble; quartzite has grain patterns that affect crack propagation.
Standard electric cooktop: $600–$1,200. Wolf or Thermador gas cooktop: $1,800–$3,500. Thermador Freedom® induction: $2,500–$5,000. Most component repairs run $80–$450. The glass surface replacement ($250–$600) is the only repair that meaningfully approaches entry-level unit replacement cost — and even then, the installation labor for a new unit adds $200–$400 more. Repair wins at every price point.
Q: One zone on my Miele induction cooktop stopped working. Is this a coil or a board?
A: Single-zone failures on Miele induction are almost always the inverter board for that zone. The induction coil itself rarely fails — the electronics driving it are the vulnerable component. Targeted board replacement restores that zone without replacing the surface.
Q: My gas cooktop burner lights but has an uneven or split flame. What’s wrong?
A: A partially blocked burner port or misaligned burner cap. Cleaning and recalibration: $80–$150 in most cases, no parts needed. This is the most underdiagnosed cooktop issue we see.
